Hi, I’m Liberty! A marine biologist, science communicator and presenter who works on all things marine protection, but my childhood soft spot for sharks remains.  As a child, I could never sit still and do just one thing - that appears to have carried into my adult life too!

Having been lucky enough to grow up on the south coast of England, my desire to understand and protect marine life stems from a childhood filled with memories being in, on and around the ocean, intrigued by everything within it. This fascination progressed into my academic life where I undertook a Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology degree at the University of Plymouth.

I am a Co-Founder of KAI and currently work for Ocean Generation as their Youth Engagement Coordinator but I’ve spent the last 5 years working in various roles including research, stakeholder engagement, science communication and campaigns. I really believe that solutions to environmental issues lie in collaboration, which has driven my work with a broad range of organisations from the conservation, technology and commercial sectors.

My drive to work in science communication is fuelled by my desire to engage people outside of our marine ‘bubble’, breaking down complex topics and research that wouldn’t otherwise be seen outside of a scientific journal. The science speaks for itself, I just want to amplify it.

Want to work with me? Let me know!

Working towards a healthier ocean can take many forms, so from science communication to presenting, writing to research assistance, I look forward to hearing how I can help.
